CUSTOMERS OFTEN CHANGE PO#'S FOR SITES OR SPECIFIC EQUIPMENT TYPES, HOWEVER WHEN WE USE A PO# IN SRM AND THEN UPDATE ITM THAT PO HISTORY IS LOST FOREVER UNLESS YOU MAINTAIN A HARD COPY OF THE ORIGINAL. IF WE HAD A OPTION TO UPDATE THE PO AND HAVE SRM SHOW THE HISTORY OF CHANGES OR TO ADD A PO FOR EACH LINE ITEM SEPERATLY WOULD HELP WITH THIS. AND MAKE THEM SEARCHABLE

This may meet the need, with some training.
In the company configurations under security there is an option to record clerk accessing contracts. once activated the user will prompted to enter their operator code and enter a note.
If you tell the front line to put the the old PO# in the note with a note like "updated PO from 123464" you will be able to see that in the clerk document access log
