We are trying to generate a list of who has worked on which asset, when they worked on the asset and for how long. This would go into a weekly report and we could decide whether having that assets makes financial sense.

You can access this information in Excel format by using the Work Orders -> W.O. Reports - Work Order Report option. With these filters/selections the report will include the information you are looking for.
